Ministry hopes to keep 2023 coal output, exports flat on year
MOSCOW, Nov 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Energy Ministry still plans to retain the 2023 figures of coal production and exports at the level of the previous two years, Deputy Minister Igor Mochalnikov said on Tuesday.
"The key goal for 2023 is to hold on to the performance terms of 2022 and 2021, production at 440 million tonnes and exports at 220 million tonnes," he said.
Mochalnikov said earlier that 2022 was quite difficult for the coal industry because all of the trade flows needed to be altered after the introduction of an embargo. Coal production stood at the level of 2021.
